How do I get started

Are you a current high school student looking to try out the OSSD? Get started with an application as our part-time student. If you’re ready to commit to a path to a full high school diploma, choose to apply as a full-time student.

On our application page, browse and select the courses you would like to enroll, then click “Add to shopping cart”.

Proof of prerequisite requirements

Most NES courses have prerequisites. You will need to submit a copy of your report card or transcript that shows you have earned a credit in the required prerequisite courses, before your registration can be completed.

You can be a part-time student if you are attending ot have attended another day school which holds your Ontario Student Record (OSR).

Select your courses from Our Courses and complete the checkout process.

Register online after checkout and our Admissions Department will get in touch with you shortly. You may need to provide the following information: Ontario Education Number (OEN), Ontario Student Transcript (OST).

You may need your current school to confirm the result of your placement tests in literacy & math.

Once qualified, you will receive a welcome package from NES, which includes:

  • Instructions for taking the courses
  • Information about the course and instructors
  • Course handbook
  • Usage etiquette for the NES platform

To be a full-time student in NES, you must meet the following two criteria:

You are not currently enrolled in another Ontario day school.

You intend to complete the extracurricular requirements and earn an OSSD diploma through NES.

Register online after checkout and our Admissions Department will get in touch with you shortly. You may need to provide the following information: Ontario Education Number (OEN), Ontario Student Transcript (OST).

  • Previous Transcript
  • Passport
  • Visa (if applicable)
  • ID Photo (2*2 inch)
  • Health Condition Form (Immunization Intake form)

You may need to complete two placement tests: literacy & math diagnostics.

If qualified, we will email you an official acceptance offer.
